Recently, the 1*50Mvar synchronous condenser project for Chaoyang Baishan 150MW wind farm has been officially put into operation. The successful commissioning of this project marks the official commercial operation of Liaoning's first distributed synchronous condenser. After the project is put into operation, it can increase the system short-circuit ratio, stabilize the system voltage, and effectively alleviate the phenomenon of "wind curtailment".
SIFANG provided the integrated solution for the distributed synchronous condenser protection and control system and a full set of equipment for the project. Its core secondary protection and control relays have remarkable advantages and can provide strong supports for the power grid. The systems such as the DCS, SFC, and excitation system have outstanding functions. The double-layer cabin construction scheme adopted in the project has a high integration degree and is in line with the planning of the renewable energy power station.
